Bella’s ThoroughFare

Bella’s ThoroughFare is set opposite the Historical Roundway Down where The Battle of Roundway Down was fought on 13 July 1643. And is considered one of the key battles in the English Civil War.

Footpaths lead from the field, woodlands close by or a ten minute walk before you are up on to the Down itself.

Our field would be suitable for,

• Historic walks
• Filming/location shoots
• Product Launches

Or just enjoy the countryside with the sound of horses, sheep and other wildlife.

Our local artist would be happy to organise sketching afternoons with Pastels.

We have a variety of birds in the locality. Buzzards, Red Kites, visiting House martins, Swallows, Pied Wagtails and Peewits, Woodpeckers, Song Thrushes and Barn Owls to name but a few. In the summer you can watch the bat displays too.

We are happy to get some shopping in for you or you can use our excellent local caterer who is happy to cook for small or larger groups using local produce.

Award winning Sandridge Farm bacon from the butchers or Farm Shop situated in the village.

Award winning Cider Farm only 2 minutes walk away.

Where to find us

Easy to get to, there is a bus stop 2 minutes away.  The nearest Train station is Chippenham (1 hour to London; 30 mins to Bristol or 15 mins to Bath).  We are situated on A342 with Stonehenge, Avebury, Silbury, Castle Combe and Salisbury all less than 1 hours’ drive.
