Shermanbury Place

Shermanbury Place Estate is a marquee and tent events venue in the West Sussex countryside. The secluded estate includes arable farmland, tranquil woodland, a 12th-century church, watermeadows, and abundant wildlife. The team’s versatile approach means we can help you curate your dream event/reception in a venue surrounded by expansive hay meadows, a trickling stream, and views of the South Downs.

Available from May to September, the Party Paddock offers a blank canvas to let your imagination run riot, with photogenic nature-filled backdrops aplenty. From a BBQ in a circus tent to a sit-down banquet in a marquee – all suppliers are your free choice, and the opportunities are endless.

History

We hope you feel the same magical connection to the land as we do. Once upon a time, The Paddock was a holding pen, or pound, for drovers en route to market with their sheep or cattle. A magnificent ash tree now stands in that space.

In the 19th Century, the paddock was the Glebe of the estate, with orchards and vegetable gardens to feed the labourers. In World War II, the Canadian army built Nissen huts in the paddock and the The Womens Land Army grew veg to feed the local community.

And In the late 20th Century, the area was a stable yard with an exercise ring for horses. Recently, scrub and excess trees have been removed, grass seed planted, and it is now a dedicated events field, waiting for your imagination to be unleashed for your special day!

Located south of Horsham, West Sussex, Shermanbury Place is a stunning canvas for you to turn your dream celebration into reality.
