Hidden Huntley

Hidden Huntley: The Secret Garden is the direct result of a ‘pandemic pivot’!  Until March 2020, this family home operated as a very successful B&B business, but things had to change with the outbreak of Covid. 

Hidden Huntley Walled Garden

Hidden in plain sight, Huntley is unique. Having the only privately-owned Victorian walled garden, and within a 5 mile radius of Belfast city centre.

Set in five acres of grounds.  Although close to the city, it is a very secluded and a picturesque oasis. You will have exclusive use on the day of your event.  The 1820s house, one of the Linen Houses of the Lagan Valley, has been in the same (linen) family for four generations, since 1928. 

Aside from the fully functional walled kitchen garden, this beautiful and versatile venue includes: a rose garden with pergola, small woodland areas, a tennis court, extensive lawns, a hayshed and one (recently refurbished) outside loo!   With the current, and ever-increasing, awareness of the ‘great outdoors’ and our natural heritage.

Hidden Huntley can offer you a delightful, private outdoor escape from crowded public areas.   The greenhouse and hayshed are available as well as plenty of flat lawn space should you choose to bring in tents as an alternative.

There is a light and airy first floor studio (80 m2) space, with sanded pine floor. Available for workshops, exercise classes and business meetings.  We’ve just installed a STAS picture-hanging system, so you can also host pop-up art exhibitions.  The former carpentry workshop on the ground floor (20msq) is available for refreshments.

Weddings at Hidden Huntley

Open all year round. Hidden Huntley offers the perfect outdoor setting for informal, micro weddings (only humanist & religious ceremonies permitted so far), receptions and other celebrations.  The grounds boast magnificent old trees, beautifully weathered stone and brick walls. As well as an abundance of colourful shrubs and flowers as backdrops for photographs. 

Corporate and other events

Ideal for small corporate gatherings, well-being events, film shoots, product launches, art exhibitions, music and theatre rehearsal/performance space. As well as an infinite variety of outdoor workshops and classes.

Local Suppliers

There is a huge variety of top notch local suppliers for catering, tents/marquees/gazebos, event designers, florists. Should you prefer you are welcome to choose your own suppliers to make the event more personal to you.

To date, we have hosted groups of: Tai Chi enthusiasts for World Tai Chi Day, several TV/film shoots, wedding photo shoots, Christmas wreath-making workshops, a pet portrait photo shoot, a graduation ceremony, a wedding reception, an 80th birthday party and there’s lots more in the pipeline.  

Numbers are limited to 30, due to restricted parking (max 20 cars)
